Itinerary

Day 1

Depart Canada

Fly to Stockholm.

Day 2

Welcome to Sweden

Upon arrival in Stockholm, take a private transfer to your hotel to check in for 1 night. Spend the rest of the day at your leisure.

Start exploring the city with a relaxed walk through central Stockholm. Begin in Gamla Stan, the Old Town, where you’ll find cobblestone streets, colourful buildings and the Royal Palace. Wander past Stortorget Square and Stockholm Cathedral, then continue along Västerlånggatan, lined with shops and cafés. Finish your walk at the waterfront near the Parliament, where you can take in classic Stockholm views.

Day 3

Stockholm Canal Cruise & Onwards to Karlstad

In the morning, it’s time to explore the Swedish Capital and join a scenic canal tour (included). You’ll make your way to the meeting point to discover Stockholm from a new vantage point. This picturesque city is often referred to as “Beauty on Water” or “Venice of the North”, as it's built upon 14 islands surrounded by Lake Mälaren and the Baltic Sea. You’ll pass by grand public buildings, palaces and museums that tell the city’s 700-year-old history beautifully.

In the afternoon, you’ll make your own way to the train station and take the train to Karlstad. Upon arrival, you’ll make your own way to your hotel for 1 night, located in the delta formed by two of Sweden's great natural watercourses: the Klara River and the impressive Lake Vänern.

Day 4

Karlstad – Oslo, Norway

After breakfast, you’ll make your own way to the train station. Today’s train journey will bring you to the capital of Norway, Oslo. Upon arrival, make your own way to your hotel for a 1-night stay. Stroll along Karl Johans gate to see the Royal Palace, Parliament and the National Theatre. Continue to the harbour area at Aker Brygge for waterfront views, charming shops and cafés. End the day with a visit to the striking Oslo City Hall, home to the Nobel Peace Prize ceremony.

Day 5

Journey to the Fjords, Oslo – Myrdal – Flåm

After breakfast, make your own way to the train station to journey to Myrdal. Travel through forests, lakes and mountains on one of Europe’s most scenic rail routes. The train climbs to Norway’s highest station at Finse before descending to Myrdal. From here, board the famous Flåmsbana to Flåm (Included), one of the steepest train lines in the world. This portion of the journey runs through fantastic nature, past the Rallar Road, steep mountains, breath-taking waterfalls and no less than 20 tunnels. It offers so many viewpoints that many feel like travelling multiple times between the mountain and the fjord.

Day 6

Flåm – Bergen, Fjord Cruise

After breakfast, make your own way to the port. Today, you’ll embark on a scenic fjord cruise to Gudvangen (included). Enjoy this breathtaking cruise along the dramatic, UNESCO World Heritage Aurlandsjord and Nærøyfjord, the arms of the famous Sognefjord, which is also called the King of the Fjords. From Gudvangen, take the shuttle bus to Voss, where a train will take you to Bergen. You’ll make your own way to your hotel.

Day 7

Bergen & Cruise to Stavanger

After breakfast, you will also have a chance to take a ride with the Fløibanen funicular railway to the top of mountain Floyen (included). From there, you can admire the magnificent views of the city and its surrounding landscapes. In the afternoon, you’ll transfer on your own to the ferry terminal and embark on a cruise to Stavanger. Upon arrival, you’ll take a private transfer to your hotel.

Day 8

Stavanger & Overnight Cruise – Hirtshals – Aarhus

After breakfast, you will have time to discover the city on your own. In the afternoon, take the private transfer to the port and embark on an overnight cruise to Hirtshals.

Day 9

Aarhus

Today, you’ll take the private transfer from the cruise terminal to the Hirtshals train station. From here, take a train to Aarhus. Upon arrival in Aarhus, make your own way to your hotel.  You’ll have an afternoon at leisure to discover Aarhus. Stroll through the Latin Quarter, visit the Aarhus Cathedral, explore Strøget for shops and cafés, and end at the harbour or ARoS rooftop for city views.

 

Spend an overnight in Aarhus.

Day 10

Aarhus – Copenhagen

After breakfast, you’ll depart for Copenhagen by an organized bus to the ferry terminal, where the bus will be loaded on board (3.5-hour journey in total, including boat travel).

Upon arrival in Copenhagen, you’ll make your own way to your hotel.

In the afternoon, you’ll join a guided classic canal tour (included) and discover the best of Copenhagen. You will experience all the famous sights and iconic landmarks, including the famous Little Mermaid, the majestic Amalienborg Castle – home of the royal family and the old Stock Exchange building. Take in the beauty and history of the city as you sail through the historic harbour and narrow canals. You’ll have the remainder of the day for some sightseeing on your own. We recommend visiting the Tivoli Gardens in the afternoon/evening (entrance to the gardens is not included).

Day 11

Return to Canada

After breakfast, take a private transfer to the airport and board your flight home to Canada.
